Hi all,
Should the in built Skoda sat nav be routing depending on traffic? I've tried it about 3 times during rush hours now and each time it takes me through normal route but ignores the traffic situation which my TomTom would avoid.
My recent 1 hour journey took an extra 45 minutes which when I used tomtoms planner after parking up mid way, would have showed me a different way, avoiding most of the congestion. I've lost trust in the in built one but not sure if I've got settings turned off or something.
To clarify I now use TomTom through android auto but would have liked the auto preheating etc.

I do not use the built in navigation as I find the data available in Waze on my phone to be more reliable, however I do get often get warning announcements that there is a hold up ahead. On the motorway, particularly the M25 to/from work, the warning usually comes shortly after passing the last junction that would allow me to avoid the apparent hold up. So far the actual delay, rather than the announced delay, has not been sufficient to make it worth diverting. I also sometimes get a warning, on days when I am not working and when I am travelling in a totally different direction on different motorways, that there is a hold up on my route and am offered an alternative route to work to avoid the hold up, shown on the map display despite no navigation being active.

Yes, the Skoda navigation should (and for me does) take into account traffic, and will show congested routes as amber or red on the map. It does depend on the car being Internet connected though.

I find the built in maps most useful for seeing the local roads and and getting an area view of traffic conditions, but I find Waze to be best for en-route traffic and navigation and Google best for POI accuracy. I find Google best for getting corrections made quickly.
The road network on the built in maps is pretty good but there are some significant errors, for example a 0.25 mile stretch of main road shown which has been in the plans since 2001 and continues a road completed in 2006 but has not been built yet. It now has planning permission and the latest forecast is that construction will start in 2025. The correction applied at the Mapcreator update portal for Skoda at https://mapcreator.here.com/mapcreator/ ... -consumers has not been accepted.
I find that there are a lot of errors and out of date information in the POI database, for example a church that closed and was demolished over 12 years ago is still shown, although it was deleted in Mapcreator over a year ago and is shown correctly on line. Quite a lot of the POIs are shown in the wrong place or on wrong roads. The worst I have seen was a school shown in a field in one county but was actually in a city in the middle of the next county. Some POIs were shown correctly in Mapcreator on line when I looked but are still shown over a mile from the correct position in the latest maps 6 months to a year after I first looked.

I've tried the in built navigation (which loads really fast compared to my 4 year old Superb which took about 5 minutes to start up)
Initially when I got my Enyaq, I could run Waze on Infotainment screen and inbuilt nav on head up display and in backgroud of infotainment screen) For some reason, this no longer works but I did compare routes and Waze done a far superior job of showing traffoc and re routing delays.
