Got my Enyaq 85 Edition Lounge 3 weeks ago, it came with a charging lead, but no Granny charger.
The Granny charger would be handy for plugging into 16amp campsite outlets, using a commando adapter, and also for when I visit relatives and could use a std 13amp socket, I know that both would be super slow charging but every little helps !
Guess I will have to buy a granny charger from Ebay etc, but thought I would ask before contacting the suppling dealer.
Yes the Yaqs do not come with granny chargers but I would never use one as working at 2 kwh they take 36 hours to fill the battery. I prefer the public chargers 150kwh and above and from 10 to 80% it takes just 15 minutes.
Love my Yaq and had it since February and just completed 11,000 miles without a glitch.
Guess I do have a use case, and the kit was not that expensive, also the Masterplug charger seems a decent bit of kit, and will shut down if connected to a dirty ac supply, or when voltage drops to below 220v, I also have a couple of mains socket tester's, so a belt and braces approach to connecting up to the mains, either here or in France.
I can highly recommend the Kewtech Loopcheck 107 & Habotest HT107E socket testers, not quite pro kit, but fine for amateurs like me.
Hi does anyone know the part number for the Skoda granny charger? Just bought a used iV60 and don't have a home charger yet! Or recommendations for a reasonably priced non Skoda charger...I can see a few recommendations but the Screw Fix ones seem to have not great reviews and the others seem to quote great customer service when they go wrong!
Any suggestions much appreciated...will be plugged into a wall socket in the garage
Was watching Bjorn Nyland (YouTube) doing a review on the interior of the Enyaq from 2021, in the boot came regular charging cable, and separate granny charger Schuko (EU 16 amp) and even a 32amp Commando adapter, Skoda have certainly cheaped out on the 2024 models by only supplying a regular charge cable, or maybe all that kit still comes with the Europe models.
@ Hensaac, I got my my screwfix portable charger of eBay, details further back in this post, and can confirm it works perfectly, if folk have been having problems with them it is probably because they are not aware of the limitations with portable chargers, they have various safety features, mine I have noticed will stop charging when the mains voltage dips to below 220v, and I have learned that most decent portable chargers have the same feature, I also made a 10m extension using 2.5mm2 cable, using regular extension cables is not recommended and can result in the charger shutting down.

That separate charger is a £600+ option you can select when configuring the Enyaq, a bit overkill so rarely selected (unless by mistake)
Wow, Powerstar, looks like I did OK putting my own version together for well under £100, I guess the car Bjorn Nyland was doing a review on, would have been a press case in any case.
