New Enyaq Coupe making Grinding/Rumbling noise when turning
UPDATE. Our car is the new 4x4 model and the fault is in the front drive unit there is a mechanical fault with the electronic differential gear box causing the rumbling noise when turning at a T junction (see a diagram of this I added in an earlier posting). After 2 months diagnosing and trying to repair the fault, we rejected the car and now have a new one (also not an easy process to go through!). Which does not have the fault. If you have this same fault, I suggest you tell your dealer to contact Skoda technical as they now know about this fault. I’m not sure if they have a fix for it yet, they may have to replace the whole front drive unit.
Hello. I have a Sporline 85X. I’ve only done 700 miles and have noticed when turning right at a local mini island, I get a sound like I’m going over a rumble strip on the motorway. I’ve also noticed, if I turn a circle in a car park or u turn, I feel a slight judder like the front wheels are misaligned. I called my dealer and they told me to take it to a local Quick fit as they have the equipment to check it. I feel it’s wrong if it’s a chargeable item as it’s a genuine fault.
I think I’m going to send an email to Skoda and forward this conversation. I don’t do a lot of motorway miles, so I’m not too bothered by it. But there is a fault that needs sorting. I wonder if the Elroq will have the same problem? What about other VW group car on the came platform?

The wife’s VRS makes the same noise. It sounds very similar to transmission wind up when I used to off-road Landys and the diff lock was in. I suspect it’s a diff / transmission issue. As for the fix? Who knows with Skoda?
The wife’s car only does it if you apply steering lock when the car is stationary (even a small amount) and then move.
