All

Possibly a silly question but double checking my theory. Roof bars... Should they be placed over the B & C pillars?

It is what I have always done but I can't find anything in the manual.

Thanks

I'm not aware of any requirements... and I'll be doing my first trip with a loaded roof box this weekend!

On the Octavia there were pin holes to mount to so I didn't need to think about it!

There are set measurements provided by Skoda for the location of the bars. I found these about 18 months ago.

I have used my roof bar’s several times using this measurements.

Thanks chillyboy123!

And great timing rpjwhite for asking the question just in time for me to make use of the answer!

I've allways fitted mine over the B & C pillars with no issue

So my son is desperate for a roof tent. Would the Enyaq coupe be capable of carrying and having the weight of me and my son in the roof tent with the huge panoramic sunroof? You think

With no expertise or specialist knowledge... I would confidently say yes! There is a limit on the weight rating for the car roof, but this does not apply to static use, but rather how much weight you can carry when the car is moving.

I missed the bit about the sunroof, but I don't think that makes any difference? The weight is on the rails. And at the end of the day, it had to withstand being upside down and having most of the nearly 2,000 kg going through the roof...

Again, the confidence of ignorance mind.

75kG is the max just about any roof bar/rails can take but it'll be a spread load so you'll be fine or they wouldn't be selling roof tents.
