Not that I ever have need to use it, but does anyone else appreciate the irony of this button?
Enyaq 60 suite arctic silver
Sorry if this is a stupid question but how do you turn the car on if you do not use this button?

I’d forgotten it was there to be honest! Like the paddles, I very seldomly use it. I’ve probably pressed it less than 5 times in 8 months!!
I think they include it, as some people like the idea of pressing something more relatable to a key, to ‘start’ the vehicle.

iV80 Loft, Black, 21” Betria, 125kW, Climate Plus, Asst Drive Basic. Tethered PodPoint. Ordered May 2021. Delivered Nov 2021. Regrettably returned Jan 2024 (Company car. Changed jobs).
I was sitting in the passenger seat waitng for my wife and pressed the start button to see what would happen, the radio came on! Now whenever I leave the car with my wife in the passenger seat I give the start button a tap and she then doesn't notice if I take longer to come back.
Ordered June 21. Race Blue, Suit, 19" Proteus wheels, 100kw charging, Heat Pump, Comfort seat plus, Climate package plus, Transport pack, Drive Sport basic, Assisted Drive basic, Parking basic. Then I ran out of money!
Yes, it's also useful for switching on the electrics without getting into the car (ie the weight on driver's seat sensor normally does this).
But granted it shouldn't really have the work 'engine' on it - however Skoda aren't the only manufacturer guilty of putting this on EVs.

Enyaq iV 80 Sportline, Energy Blue, Assisted Drive Plus, Infotainment Plus, Convenience Plus, Comfort Seat Plus, Transport Pack, Heat Pump, ME3.2, Built Nov 2021.
It shouldn’t have the words start and stop on it, as it provides neither of those functions. Engine imho is okay as we do have an engine (although more commonly referred to as a motor), and the button does allow you to control its functionality. (Not that any of this is important, but debating it gives the grey cells a run out )

But it doesn't do anything with the motor really - that's not powered until you press the accelerator pedal and the computer deems that the car needs to move. All the switch really does is turn on or off the power to the electronics. So probably labelling it 'power on/off' like it is in some other makes of EV may be more appropriate.
