Puddle lights broken up

I noticed the other day along with the skoda symbol I now have numerous dots and lines all over the projection unsure if possibly water got inside or actually damaged as same on both sides has anyone had similar issues

There's been a few reports of this happening, it seems to be caused by liquid entering the unit.

Dealers have been repairing them under warranty.

I like it

As ‘puddle lights’, they are not particularly useful when stepping out of the car. They hardly illuminate the area you’re about to step into, as most of the illuminated area is the other side of a wide open door!

They should have put some lights under the door itself, directed back towards the area you step into. I’m fairly sure my BMW was more like that.

I don’t understand why not waterproofed. Are they being replaced under warranty as a new updated version or will they just get damaged again ? Any links ?

/\. Version 3.0 firmware will hopefully solve the waterproofing issues

Hopefully sort interior light issues too as at the moment at night I’m just stuck in the dark before I poke it too hard and break it fully , these electric issues are something else !

I thought mine were ok until a few weeks ago I noticed this

And they are not just bad they are dreadful

Had mine replaced under warranty as both lights gave broken images - was done as part of the ME3 software update, but normally they take about 15 minutes each to replace. Asked my Dealer if there had been any upgrade to the puddle light unit - he did not believe there had been any upgrade according to information from Skoda that he could access. Mine lasted about 8 months so will keep an eye on whether it happens again.

Ah! I have just noticed that both of mine are looking like this too.. I liked it when they said Škoda, not the current garbled mess.
