This is not good :( have you tried a public DC too ?

Not yet. I tried again to charge via 3pin charger by switching the reduced ac on and off several time and it took charge.

Public dc charger would be my last resort if the ax charger is definitively broken.

My wall box isn’t due for installation till 30th March… :(

Had British Gas on order to install but they messed me about for a while then the engineer never turned up on the day. Horrendous experience so had to repurchase and now going with Ohme and hear that’s decent.

Dc charge was just for verification that it’s AC charge issue only . Don’t speak to me about British Gas ! 8 months 209 calls probably same online chats to replace a surge damaged smart meter communication hub and all along couldn’t switch supplier as no one could see current supplier and connection information!! Absolute shambles

@ricky10 Interested to hear any updates on this. Hopefully resolve as it's an old thread.

Just had the exact same issues that you described with my 2022 Enyaq. Was thinking that it might be the new tow bar fitted or Octopus Intelligent Go connecting to the car, but I take it you had none of these in common.

It's a new (second hand) purchase so I's like to get to the bottom of it and take the issue up with the dealer if I need to

I had this 12V battery issue 3 times. Each time I had to disconnect 12V and wait a while then connect the car up. It all happened fairly early days.

Not had this repeating issue since. DC charging wasn’t affected. Only had one time where the car didn’t charge up via granny and not entirely sure why as it worked the night after.

Had no issues with wall box charger so far.

Been having the same issue, when disconnecting and reconnecting the 12v did it comes up with any error codes as I've read a few posts elsewhere suggesting it can cause more problems.
thanks

Enyaq 85 L&K - not happy

Just had this happen (xmas eve 2024) - car delivered on 16th December, I've driven it for around 65miles in total since then.

As I had planned to do a few Xmas visits through the day, I took the opportunity to get it charged to full overnight using 3pin plug 13a 240v charger, our 7kw wall charger delayed until mid Jan).

Went to go out, only to find the charger plug was stuck in the car, tried locking/unlocking several times, resetting the screen by holding power button, all unsuccessful, I didn't take much notice of the messages, I ended up using the emergency cord in the boot to release the charger.

At this point I'm ready to launch, only to find that the only drive I select is neutral and it's at that point I realised the 12v error message.

So the car is 8 days old, the AA can't fix it, an AA specialist VW tech is coming to the house on Xmas day, most likely to tell me it's a dealer only fix.

How can a 12v supply cause so many issues??

I'm stuck with a 3-pin plug charger for 3 more weeks, if the problem is that type of charging doesn't charge the 12v, does it charge the 12v from the EV batteries whilst driving? If not, it seems likely this will issue will happen again or l'll be forced to use a DC charger at the supermarket etc just to top up the 12v.

35years driving and this is the first car I've had that's problematic on delivery - dear Skoda, it sucks that, 4 years after it's release, such basic quality/design issues exist. This is such an inconvenience at what should be "the most wonderful time of the year" - The result is that I'm likely to avoid VAG cars in future and if anyone asks why, this will be the sequence of events I'll use to explain.

Do you have a 12volt car battery charger ? I think some have managed to get things going by giving the 12volt batt a charge up.. I guess a 12volt battery booster may also work.

I know its not ideal, but if it gets you off the drive at least you are not stuck at home.

The AA tried a battery booster, their VW tech arrives today too try again (I'm not confident) and I've ordered a trickle charger for future use (success Friday).

Merry Christmas everyone 🎅🎄⛄

Sounds pretty crappy. best of luck with it.. Skoda should really be proactively sorting this out.
