My IV 60 will be coming up to 2 years old in June with 21,000+ miles. For two fast charges in the last week the charger has indicated that the charge speed is being limited by the vehicle. I've previously charged to a speed of around 90kw from a low SOC. Just wondering what's going on. I read the following article - https://www.evgo.com/blog/5-things-that ... ing-speed/. So might it have been the low temperature or is there a voltage limitation? Anyone else experiencing this?

Does anyone know if you buy a used 2021 car with maximum 50kW charge speed can you upgrade this at a dealer for a fee to get it to 100kW+?

The outside temperature was about 4°C, no idea about the battery temperature - does the car tell you? I wonder if it's cold does the car limit the charging speed?

You need an OBD reader. Yes the car does limit the charging speed when it's cold. Older cars pre-ME3.0 software do so to a different extent. I can't remember the details, but there are plenty of threads about it here

I had a charge tonight before trip home from 8% , I tried the harsh accelerator and regen braking before plugging into a 350kw charger . Usually I can get around 90kwh for a the first bit to 30 then drops off to 65 from 50 etc but today being 1degrees I never hit more than 65kwh the whole time and I am certain it’s the cold weather doing this . It’s almost like the battery never warms up enough throughout the whole charge to allow the same figures when warmer temperatures
