We have had some charging issues over the last couple of weeks and ours is a british gas installed wall charger and basically using the app to charge from midnight to 8am ,the car would start charging at 00-02 and stop 4 minutes later and then on the last occasion it started charging at 0 6-58 and finished charging at 07-58 ,the car was not up to 80% .We contacted British Gas and the the explanation they have come up with is that we have too higher voltage coming to the house so the system shuts down and they are supposedly looking into this to resolve

Had two successful scheduled charges now up to 80% so very happy and don,t know what the problem was , might have either been too much voltage coming into the house or as I suspect loss of signal to the smart meter from the app

In fact, the UK did have a system that would do that, designed by Thorn. It was running back in the 1990s, using spread spectrum power line comms. But it required a comms unit back at the substation and the electricity industry wouldn't put up the investment to do it.

Further update on our charging issues , recently had two further failed scheduled charges so contacted British Gas again and their response was very good and an engineer came yesterday and did all sorts of tests and it turns out it was a faulty charger which was changed and last night/this morning we had a successful charge
