So it seems…
Not sure if it ever really went away but I recall we had some confusion not long ago.
Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) back on the Assisted Drive BASIC package
Out of interest - does anyone with Assisted Drive ‘Basic’ NOT have the function where their Enyaq automatically stops and starts in heavy traffic? This is what we ‘think’ TJA is and I was told it had been removed from my order due to chip shortages - yet I definitely have it.

Are you 100% sure it was previously removed from the Assisted Drive Basic package? Didn't think you could ever get just Adaptive Cruise Control on its own on an Enyaq. Options were either stick with the standard Cruise Control with Speed Limiter, which is standard on all models, or else pay for the Adaptive Cruise Control with Traffic Jam Assist, which comes as part of either of the Assisted Drive packages.
There's been discussions over on the Kodiaq Forum asking what exactly the TJA does as you can specify the ACC on its own, which is what I have on my 2019 Kodiaq and it will quite happily stop and start again in queuing traffic. Hoping that will still be the case in my new car (another Kodiaq) as I haven't added the Travel Assist package which includes PACC, Adaptive Lane Assist, Camera Sign Recognition and TJA. I've gone for the same as I have now, just ACC. I specifically didn't want the lane assist as I've driven cars with it and really don't get on with it at all.

This is just it - nobody seems to know exactly what TJA is meant to do. It’s not mentioned at all in the Enyaq manual.

I have traffic jam assist on my superb. It's basically a part of the adaptive cruise control and labelled as something extra.
When you have the ACC on it matches the speed of the car in front.
When you get to a traffic jam, slow moving or stop start traffic, the car still matches the speed of the car in front right down to 0mph, when the auto hold will activate.
If the car in front moves off right away, your car will move off as well and follow up to your preset speed as it should.
If you are stopped for more than a few seconds, the car will not just move off and you'll need to tell the car to move off by just tapping the accelerator, where it will then just carry on with the acc.

Still doesnt fully clear it up but might help.

Roo1980 - That's exactly the behaviour Goaty has with his ACC - and he was specifically told by the dealer that his car did not have TJA. Which is why we're confused as to what exactly it does that ACC doesn't already do. Some of us are forming the opinion that actually it's a standard part of ACC on the Enyaq, so not actually an option at all (like it is on other models). Perhaps it was intended to be an option at launch, but just became standard by the time retail production started.
tomm636 - it's is Traffic Jam Assist we're discussing, not Travel Assist. That is reasonably well described (combines ACC and sign recognition for speed control and Lane Assist for steering control).

I ordered Assisted Drive Basic which came with TJA
Never having either adaptive cruise control (only standard) or any form of traffic jam system it is working exactly as I imagined it would.
Was in a 30mph section and the car brought me to a stop at the end of the traffic queue, a message then appeared on the driver display "Adaptive Cruise Control Active " (or words to that effect), and when the car in front moved off my Enyaq followed.
I was very nervous to use it because I was still heading for the end of a queue at 30mph and the gap was closing rapidly, do I brake, do I brake, just seconds before I was going to stamp on the pedal the car firmly came to a stop.
It works but for me will take a bit of getting used to.

In theory the forward collision mitigation system should make it almost impossible to drive into anything. But I think it'll take me (and maybe a lot of people) some time to fully trust it. No harm in braking normally though, remember these are meant to be driver assistance systems, not driver replacement systems.
