Tried my first Ionity charge today - but definitely did not want to pay their default 69p per kW!!
Having previously applied for a Skoda PowerPass card (and downloaded the app for it - and fully activated my account), all I had to do was plug in, press something like ‘start’ (I can’t remember exactly) and hold the PowerPass card up to the contactless pad. It then started charging immediately.
Charged to 80% from 50% in 27 mins.
24.5 kW delivered. £6.14 cost.
That’s only 25p per kW. “Get in” as they say! Well happy with that
Definitely recommend the Skoda PowerPass card / app for Ionity. Thanks to Stripy (I think it was) for clearing this up!
I think I understand Ionity and Skoda PowerPass 🤞

Nice one
My dealer never mentioned this to me when I picked mine up.
The website was abit rubbish regarding powerpass before.
I had another read this week and signed up to my first year of zero subscription fees.
My card is on its way now.
Glad to here someone’s actually got it to work ok.

Are you tied into Powerpass and paying a subscription the following year after the first year freebie is up ?
Cheers.
IV80 race blue , Suite interior, heat pump , 125Kw fast charging, Climate plus pack .ordered Oct 16th 2021.
/\ it appears to be a free subscription fee for the first 12 months - I think because I have upgraded charging as part of the spec.
Looks like there is no auto renewal after the year is up (but I’ve not read the Smallprint to be honest).

Hi, new to the forum
Had the Enyaq for about six weeks now and all good.
Like Goaty, I've recently had my first experience of using the Powerpass with Ionity (Cobham services and then Milton Keynes).
Both successful, surprisingly hassle free and only 25p/kW.
I signed up for the 12 months "Charge Faster DC Booster" subscription (no charge for the subscription).
The Powerpass app gives details of the charging sessions almost immediately after you've finished and with enough details.
For info, although you need to provide the details of the Enyaq to register and get the Powerpass, thereafter the Powerpass is not linked to the car, it's linked to the bank account or credit card details you register.
We've recently become and all EV family and one of the charging sessions with the Powerpass was to charge a Hyundai Kona Electric.
Even though the Kona is limited to 50kWh charging, so can't accept the higher Ionity speeds, we thought we'd take advantage of the cheaper 25p/kW rate compared to other public chargers. We had no problems at all doing this.
The discounted Ionity rates are for 12 months but there is no tie-in or automatic renewal.
Thanks to previous posters for helping me set-up and register for the Powerpass in the first place.

Do you have upgraded charging with your Enyaq, or just 50 kWh charging? I think there is a year’s free membership for cars with upgraded charging. Still have to pay to charge, but membership is free.
