What app and how?

I am interested in switch off speed preview and road layout preview off permanently from ACC. It comes back turned on like a gremlin!
I turned off the two options on mine once I found out what was causing the issues, and they have never come back on again?

The OBDeleven app, from wherever you download apps. In the app you can choose your car make and model. There is something called "apps" in the app and there you can see a list of options. You can actually do alot more changes than those in the "apps" section but then you have to do something called "long coding" and I don't know how to do it. You have to enter the actual CAN commands and I don't feel like winging it. Those ready-made commands ("apps") cost credits but long coding is free.

I turned mine off with ODBeleven about a year ago thanks to advice on this thread. Around £40 for the dongle and £2 one-off for the app to disable it. Took a few minutes and worked brilliantly. Lane Assist is one of the most annoying and certainly the most dangerous feature of my Enyaq. I would guess that you may also be able to do the same with other assist features, but you'd have to check through the one click apps on the ODBeleven website. Loads of othe one-click apps for the Enyaq that people might find useful.

However, our vehicle was recently (couple of weeks ago) back at Hawco for a repair of the charger flap under warranty. They also carried out a recall which involved a software re-installation / update. This did two things - first it knocked off the towbar and second it removed the ODB app that set the lane assist to remember the last state it was set in. They had the cheek to tell me I'd need to get the towbar re-programmed myself. They soon backed down on that one. I didn't know about the lane assist mod being removed until I got the vehicle back (although I had suspected that it would be gone) and I can't really put up an argument there as I've basically hacked the software. So I paid another £2 for the ODB one click app, but this time (again I feared this might happen) it didn't work, presumably because the app was written for the previous software platform. I've sent ODBeleven a message about this to see whether they are planning to update the app as I guess it will start to effect more and more people as the recall progresses. I'll report back here when I get a reply. Anybody thinking of doing this, I would suggest holding out for now as you're likely to have the same issue with the recall.

Who knows what the recall actually did. Assist software is still rubbish, including the lane assist and speed limit sign reader that thinks you're in a 30mph zone when you've got the 3 strokes below the sign and still 300 yards to go...
