Hi everyone.

I'm looking for some reliable information about the ground clearance of the Coupe 85X sportline and the Coupe VRS. There is lots of information about this on the web, but much of it is contradictory and inconsistent. Ground clearance getting on/off the drive is key. Most EV's i have tried have grounded at the top of the drive going onto the dropped kerb. I managed to get an 80iv on the drive (the dealer didn't have anything else available to test drive) so am hopeful the Coupe will also fit.

many thanks in advance

The sportline is about 15mm lower the the normal models. The VRS may well be lower still.

Was the 80 you tried a sportline or a normal model?

I am under the impression that all model variants are 186mm

On the older models (60/80), the brochure clearly shows Sportline (and anything with the optional Sports Suspension) as being 15mm lower than the other models with a height of 1604mm vs 1621mm. However the table in recent brochures show all the newer models (50/85) including Sportline at 1621mm, apart from vRS which is 1615mm. But the diagrams and text in the brochure don't match up. The diagrams show Sportline and vRS as being 1605mm.

The approach and departure angles are about 1 degree lower on the Sportline and vRS according to the diagrams (which matches with the older models). So I suspect the models with Sport Suspension are still 15mm lower than the standard models and the table in the brochure is incorrect.

The odd thing for me is that all of these cars are taller than a typical Ford Focus or VW Golf... Do you really have a driveway you cant get into with a completely standard Golf?!

Well, here's the thing. I cant get a Model Y over the crest of the drive where it meets the top of the dropped kerb without there being a very concerning metal on concrete sound where the underside of the car comes into contact with the ground. I'm guessing that isn't good for battery health! It was a straightforward 80 that i did get on the drive
