Charging

Hello all

I’ve had my Enyaq for a couple of weeks ago but I am struggling with setting the charging timing (so it comes on specifically when the electric is cheaper at night).

I’m not sure if it’s because I’ve got the timer set on my charger (Podpoint) and it should be the car - I thought I’d got the timers set the same on both of them but this might be counterintuitive!

Any suggestions gratefully received!

Any particular reason to have both?
I would only set up the charger. One thing I have noticed though - if I leave "Avoid circuit breaker tripping " in Enyaq on, it can charge even as low as 1kwH, meaning had only 6kw over night yesterday. So switched it off when I found out.

No particular reason - I just kinda assumed they should be in sync in some way…

So should I leave the car on “charge immediately” type mode and then just set the timing on the Podpoint app?

If you set both you are more likely to have issues as they sorta fight with each other.

You might also find if you set the timer on the Podpoint, the car will not charge at full speed, instead defaulting to half speed. Thats some sort of software bug that seems to manifest with certain chargers.

However yes, start with the car set to "charge immediately" and the timer on the podpoint and see how you get on. If its causing issues, try flipping it around so the chargers always on and the car has the timer.
