That's the manual release for releasing the plug when your key doesn't unlock it

I have bought this:

To help mitigate water/dust ingress during slow charging... Silicone spray may be worth a look too! just need to get the car now... 17 days!

I had the same issue, Enyaq iv60. My Skoda roadside assistance was still current and they came out fixed and replaced the part on the same day.

same issue with my Enyaq iv80. called skoda assist via the app. they advised the lock/unlock method which didn't work but sent the AA round within 10 minutes. AA man pushed the flap several times. It opened (I'd been doing the same thing on and off with the lock unlock action for 2 hours). He pushed it closed but it wouldn't stay shut ... so at least it was clear there was a prob. He recommended getting car to dealership and suggested keeping the flap open while pushing the lock-pin. The lock pin stayed in and the flap could be nearly fully closed without locking. helpful while I'm using car prior to getting it fixed.

I've just returned from Tenerife. 10 days on an airport car park and the unlock mechanism (others mention it being a solenoid) wasn't engaging on my IV60 2021 model.
As I was in need of a charge with no chance of a repair or call out before needing to travel. I decided to pry it.
I prised open the flap with a prising tool and long stemmed electrical screwdriver without damaging anything. Pry from the top and you can gently slide the flap from the catch using the screw driver. It's fairly easy to do by anyone who's got any basic DIY ability.
However, it's such a poor design that I'm thinking of rasping the plastic down so it doesn't matter if it works or not. I'm guessing even after a complete repair this design is likely to fail again at some point.
This is my one and only complaint about the vehicle though. I absolutely love it otherwise and for me it's a minor issue.
Hopefully my experience may help others.

I’ve been driving around for the last 800 miles with the t-bar but at the end of the lock mechanism cut off. The flap stays shut just fine without it, and it’s still easy to open and shut.

I have a new lock mechanism ready to fit, I just haven’t got round to it yet.

Anyone fitted an actuator with an emergency release cable ?

If you google 8V0862159 you get a lot of compatible ones - including i,e https://www.autodoc.dk/esen-skv/16527233

or a vast number from china - https://www.aliexpress.com/w/wholesale--8V0862159.html

I’ve had the same problem . Tried locking/unlocking repeatedly without success. Prised open the flap sufficient to wedge a small torch and then, beside that, first a screwdriver and then some long nose pliers . But still no success! In the end forced open and in doing so snapped a part of the internal plastic. Guess I’ll now need to replace the internal unit as explained in this thread . Nuisance. Judging by the number of reports if this it’s clearly a fundamental design fault which needs modifying. To be fair, rare for Škoda in my limited experience.

I wonder if one of these would help limit the possibility of this sort of thing happening? https://amzn.eu/d/2vmb04U

The water will get in whether the flap is open or closed. To me it seems it comes down to the rubber O-ring on the lock shaft drying out and shrinking, so letting water wick down and into the motor gearbox area. The non-VW units seem to have a thicker rubber section, so might actually be better. But in the meantime, pushing some grease (I used spray lithium grease) in there should help.
