Afternoon all
Thanks for allowing me.to join.
I believe my Enyaq 85x Sportline Plus was build week 41, so a week last Monday.
Wondering when it's likely built and shipped? Is there anything to look at once it's arrived?
I had a message from Skoda saying the dealer wanted ro share my details for Skoda Connect, does this mean it's closer to delivery?
Regards
Mark
New to Skoda and EV!
A few years ago we used to be able to ask Skoda UK for updates, but they stopped that and all communication has to go through the dealership network now.
Generally if it does get built during the week you've been given, it's another week for it to get transported to the port (Emden in Germany). Then another week for a ship to available and the car to be loaded on - this bit can stretch to a couple of weeks sometimes, as the ship only holds a finite number of cars. After it arrives in the UK, it then can take a few days to clear customs and be released to your dealer to collect. Depending on your dealership's procedures (and how far they are from the port), it could be a couple more days before they arrange a transporter (or go and drive it off the docks). Final bit is a day to complete the pre-delivery tasks (removal of transport blocks, fitting of registration plates etc.) and then they'll get you to collect it.
So in theory, it's usually at least 2 weeks after the build date before collection, more commonly 3-4 weeks.

It's maybe worth emailing your dealership when we get to week 41 to ask if they can get you a status update from Skoda. I think there were some good discussions on the status codes on here back in 2021, but I can't seem to find it at the moment. There are a whole load of codes that say the car is on the production line, in quality assurance, awaiting loading onto the train, on the train, awaiting ship, at sea etc.
One thing that has sort of emerged over the years that when waiting for a space on the ship, quite often lease cars sit in the rain in North Germany for longer than those bought by the end customer from Skoda. It's maybe coincidence, or maybe dealerships have some say as to which cars get loaded, and they're more likely to prioritise the ones they have a direct customer relationship with than those that just go straight to a lease company.

For what it's worth - my dealership haven't been great with the updates. Told me it was in a UK port, then a week later it was on a ship, another week later it was heading to Grimsby port.
At that point I went onto the Skoda web chat and they told me the car was already at Sheerness port, and gave me the date it would be delivered to the dealer, which was correct.
So probably worth giving them a try.

Ooh - good to know that Skoda UK are responding to these requests again.
