Being as the Skoda app comms seems to be down I'd thought I'd post some useful discoveries in using the Skoda app, on Android at least. I'm sure many of you will be ahead of me here, but it may be of use to someone ...

I've found the app to be a little flaky, setting the aircon and then waiting an age, with sometimes no effect, so this observation may be useful:

When you open the app you can see connection status (with two arrows) at the top left in small text e.g. "Yesterday at 12:21"
If you pull down the screen you see the rotating arrow and the connection status may update, or not. Keep trying.
It goes to "Waking up" and then "On line" (or similar - I can't check the exact wording as it is down at the mo). You may need to keep pulling down to get it to update.
Until you get the On-Line status, nothing works.
Once you have the On-line status, setting the aircon etc is almost immediate.

Having spotted this it has been much more reliable, or maybe I should say predictable.

Yes, this recent Skoda app update showing the Online status was a really good idea because now you can see what’s going on and what to expect from the car’s reaction to settings changes.
