Hey all,

Anyone else experienced the knocking / clunking sound when accelerating and braking in their Enyaq ? Mine is coming from the rear inside wheel area.

I thought it could be the brakes, suspension, or worse still the motor. Then I found a post on the ID.3 forum with several people with the same issue.

The issue on the ID cars is related to the drive shaft.

Check this clip out for the sound, which is the same my Enyaq is making - https://ha.ikel.uk/local/audio/id3-clack.m4a

Here is a link to the thread I am talking about - https://www.id3forums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=2479

Currently waiting on a response from Skoda before it gets re booked back it.

An update on this issue in case anyone else gets the same.

It was not related to the drum brakes or suspension.

Just as I expected, it was the same issue as the ID.3 and ID.4 owners where having.

It was an issue with the drive shaft which had to be replaced.

Had to wait a few weeks for parts and was a big job to replace.

All is sorted now, nice and quiet.

Hey guys,

i have the same clunking sound when accelerating and braking my Enyaq but the dealer says that the sound comes from inside the motor and a gear needs to replaced ! :(
We ordered the parts but these will be available in 3-4 weeks to do the replacement.
The service said there is a technical instruction from VW group and it is a known issue to ID4 & Enyaq.
Was your problem fixed ? Did it came back after some time ?

The replacement of the drive shaft did make my clunking sound go away. But after 5 months it returned. The exact same sound etc etc.

I have just had it back in the garage again.

Skoda now have a TPI for the problem which they didn't at the end of last year. It is something in the gearbox of the 2021 Enyaq's that's the fault.

Not sure why the drive shaft replacement seemed to have solved it for several months. Maybe fitting a new drive shaft and torquing it up to the gearbox masked the issue for a short while.

Anyway I am waiting for parts again.

Once the work is done and I can confirm its solved it, I will share the TPI.

Yes, I had the exact same side.
Mine was few and far between an only under high torque, and then became more frequent as it happened more.
It was very much a metal on metal clunk/twng sound.
New drive shaft sorted it for me.

My Skoda Enyaq iV 80 is going to the workshop in late august because of the exact same problem.
The car is from august 2023 so it kind of sucks that it is already making clicking/clunking sounds when accelerating and braking.

chillyboy123 did you ever get the TPI number?
I'm going to search Skoda erWin using the VIN but it would be really nice to have the TPI number to compare/search by.
It would be extremely nice to print the TPI and hand it over to the mechanics when my car is going to the workshop in about 5 weeks.
Hopefully this will make it easy for them to recognize the problem.

Unless chillyboy123 posts the TPI number in this forum, I will try to find it on erWin or get the number from the workshop and then post it here.

Anyway thanks to chillyboy123 and drdoalot for your posts :)

Hey,

I don’t have the TPI number yet.

I am still waiting for the parts to arrive before they book me back in.

I remember reading the document and it related to cars made in 2021.

Not saying the same thing cant happen to cars made later.

As soon as I have have the work done and confirm it fix’s the issue, I will update the post.
The garage should be able to quickly find the TPI though.

Hey chillyboy123

I finally found the TPI for my Skoda ENYAQ iV 80 from 2023 using erWin.

The title is: Clacking noises at load changes and/or change of direction
Transaction No: 2073406/2

https://ibb.co/J7pfH9s

There is even a video that illustrates the problem.

It's really hard to figure out how to download the TPS's but watching a Czech video tutorial i finally figured out how do to it.
From erWin (using Microsoft Edge browser) you can open another online app from where the TPI's are available.

https://ibb.co/G2tVfwr

From that app you click "Technical Service Handbook" in the "Workshop information" drop-down as shown below.
https://ibb.co/LY6fhDx

You can then see all the TPI's related to your specific vehicle

https://ibb.co/wpK64x6

Remember to select the right tab in the bottom of the window. One shows just some additional information and one shows the actual KPI.
Note also that some of the PKI's have a video tab and some an attachment tab (sorry for the screenshot below. You can just make out that there is a tab bar in the bottom of the image).
