Re: Insurance Enyaq v Tesla
I think it’s a matter of desirability in the case of Yaris GR vs VRS. In the case of Tesla vs Enyaq, the differential isn’t the ticket price or residual but repair cost. VWG is still terrible at getting services done on EV and every time the car goes in - it has to go to a specialist EV garage and t...

Re: Charge hatch not opening AGAIN
Happened to me too his morning. AA ripped the painted panel off the latch and snapped off half of the plastic latch to give enough wiggle room to open the port. This is clearly a design flaw. AA man said he attends a load of golf and polo with the same issues.

Re: New tyres dilema
I got radial sports active 2 EV for the fronts and Bridgestone at the back. Mine is 80 so different tyres front and back.
I would rate the radial sports active highly. Low wear and good efficiency at almost half the price of Bridgestone.

Re: Battery Degradation
Electric motor can still be improved significantly. The basic physics has not changed. But there are improvements to the magnetic field and how fast it changes and thus loss and also the core material to create more power field etc. My car has had its 2yr service (not at VW/skoda dealership). Batter...

Re: Anyone else still on 3.2?
I updated to 3.7 week before last. No issues to report. And also the reported efficiency seems to be higher than before. Managed 230miles with 15% left doing 70+ ok motorway with heating on all the time.
I feel like the update has been an improvement

Re: Don’t pay road car tax next year
Basically EV and other vehicles (ice and hybrids) will have the same road taxes. Excluding luxury car and emission based tax bands. Some older and polluting cars will have lower taxes than EVs even older EVs. It’s pretty scandalous that they did this change to affect vehicles going back 10yrs as wel...

Re: Tesla charger with powerpass
Put your car details into the Tesla app, all sites that accept non-Tesla cars will be shown. Any sites that only accepts Tesla won’t be shown to you.
The app is very very very good.

Re: Disapointing long journey yesterday
A couple of observations 1) running to 0% is a bit close. Try to plan stops closer to 10% charge 2) try leaving home at 100% 3) try stick the ACC at 65 instead of 70. I find 65 is a good average speed cos you are not constantly slowing down before the car in front is lane hogging or needing to do to...

Re: extended warranty?
So warranty to cover LV and Mechanical issues - explain to me what possible LV issues would be covered by warranty claims that can’t be denied as wear and tear? In ice car, the most common electrical issues are related to alternator and 12V battery issues which lead to problems down to starters and ...

Re: extended warranty?
The battery is covered for 8yrs or 100k miles.
People are buying warranty for mechanical issues?
Am I missing something here?
